Are you telling me that there are no slum areas left in Soweto? I suspect it's all new development that is of a better standard. But I've not been that side of the world for many years so I could be wrong.

Probably servicing those same poor people who couldn't give two schits about their environment, or taking care of their infrastructure.

I've said it over and over again, South Africans live like pigs. Which drives the culture of impunity. Strongly enforced litter laws with harsh penalties will fix 90% of the issues in this country, by driving a culture change...

Indeed, likewise a community that burns down and or trashes their own educational institutions are a bunch of savages that deserve no place in society, regardless of what ills they may think the government has inflicted upon them.

Afaik CT like Durban believe it or not has shelters where homeless people can grab a meal and sleep for the night. Many choose not to because the shelters have several hard rules: Don't be drunk when you arrive and don't have narcotics or alcohol on you coming in. One breach and you are blacklisted for life.
