Is it too late on a Friday for logic to be working with you? It's 2025 now and the structures were built in the early 90's. Still with me here? The ANC were in charge until circa 2106, no? They did nothing about it, ergo they supported it. Come Champy, this is not higher grade stuff.

The DA will be the largest parties in all the Gauteng metros. It is definitely possible to be the majority in some of them.

Have you shifted the goalposts so much that being the largest party is no longer the electoral achievement?

Unfortunately, they haven't seen a drop-off in the PA vote in by-elections - at least in the rural coloured vote. I think it will take a cycle for their voters to figure it out - i.e. elect PA councillors and realise they are useless and then come back to the DA. He is still banking on the "coloured party for coloureds" spiel.

Lol. So many ANC supporters triggered by the fantastic increase in support for the DA in their hardest areas (excluding rural EC & KZN where they vote ANC for breakfast, lunch & dinner). I think the ANC are very worried that if the DA are getting double figures in their weakest wards, they are scared about what it means for what the DA is achieving in marginal wards and their strongholds (hint: the latter is much higher than the risible 53% achieved by the ANC in a stronghold ward).
