What happened there? I'm given to understand the ANC didn't want him reappointed which is part of the rift in council.

I suspect that could have just been News24 spreading lies again, I don't see any reason why the ANC would be opposed to his appointment.

So, I am sure they have to protect their "sources" but it must be quite easy to make up stories of factions/divisions to complete article and sensationalize by giving oomph.
