Why are the prices so way too expensive in South Africa when one compares what we pay for snail-paced internet access when compared with what British citizens pay for theirs?

Some offer up to 50Mbps line speed and unlimited bandwidth for under 20 pounds or R300 a month. This is insane!

Just why are South Africans being ripped off?

Well, I am going to take it on myself to find out the *REAL* reason for the overcharging. I will start with ICASA and take it to the Consumer Councils too. I know South Africans are greedy, I know the infrastructure is still new, but based on that map that LancelotSA supplied the link to, the Australians ought to be paying as much as we are. Are they?

Since Isabel Jones died, I have taken up the baton and am running with it in favour of our cash-strapped consumers. From what I have seen, we do not get any FAIR DEAL and I am challenging it.
