SA progress report 'on way'

Speaking in his budget vote in the national assembly on Wednesday, the president said this would deal with the centrally important issue "of social cohesion and therefore progress we are making towards creating the united, equitable and caring society for which many of our people sacrificed their lives".

Still a long way to go, especially as the government is intent on dividing people by race with its policies.

I wonder if the report will mention that, or if it will be just another feel-good, lets-pat-ourselves-on-the-back report. Time will tell.

My guess is that it will deal with the differences in wealth between racists, and the unwillingness of some races to fit into the New South Africa. Basically the same rhetoric from the government, in just another form.

Seems I am becoming cynical, comes from too much time on these forums.

Hmm - so a report on progress is imminent. Why do people see the need of announcing everything instead of just doing it? Report released sounds much more impressive than soon to be released.

What I have found is that one should ALWAYS expect the worst, because then whatever happens will probably end up being better. Unless Ivy is involved of course.

Which is of course almost all the time.
