Been thinking about this for a while now.
I think the concept of creating a large SA guild to do RVR stuff proved to be unlikely. I think this is where we all went wrong. The first few months of the game has seeded out the gawkers and rubberbanders, and we're now finally left with a smallish handful of loyal WAR dieharders.
Second, the nature of RVR in this game appears to be that PUG Warbands are the way to go.
There appears to be little point in creating a large, loose guild for ORVR when you can simply jump into any open warband in your area and rack up some renown points and influence.
However, PVE still requires some co-ordination, enough that pug runs generally aren't capable of clearing Lost Vale. Getting together the relevant people interested in a run through a dungeon appears to be difficult at best, if not flat out impossible.
I feel like myself and many other SA people haven't really experienced what the game has to offer, PVE wise, whatsoever. I haven't set foot in Bastion Stair, let alone Lost Vale or Bilerot/Warpblade, any of the Lairs, etc. Secondly, the PVE loot through these dungeons is vital if you want to be able to experience Fortress/City sieges, due to the Wards required. Fort Lords/City PQ bosses can oneshot level 40's without the requisite Ward gear. To get this Ward gear means farming PVE for your Sentinel and up.
So, I am considering constructing a small, very dedicated team of South African individuals built expressly for the purpose of levelling and exploring the existing PVE content and any future PVE content that may arise.
This includes Gunbad at Tier3 for lulz, Bastion Stair at Tier 4 for lulz and the city dungeons and Lost Vale at endgame for Wards and lulz.
It will not be a super hardcore raid guild ala WoW due to a few reasons : 1, lockout timers in WAR are super long (3 to 5 days) and the content isn't exactly mind-bogglingly difficult. Challenging enough to require preparation and organisation though, which is why I'm proposing the creation of this guild/initiative.
RvR will not be a focus at all, as that can be pugged. The guild would be kept very small and, very importantly, we would keep it restricted to SA people (with exceptions ofc), and the nature of PVE being that only 6 people are required to clear any PVE content ingame. Therefore I'd be looking only at recruiting enough people to field one or maybe two teams, ie 10 to 20 people max. Ideally, at least 6 core members who would be able to make every run, every week, for the most part. Further, we would need to construct this guild/team expressly for clearing/farming PVE content, so we'd have to look at minmaxing/rerolling as necessary in order to field 2 tanks, 2 healers and 2 dps per run.
TL;DR: I'm setting up a poll here to determine the feasability of such a project.
Please vote "Yes' only if,
-You'd like to be part of it
-You enjoy Warhammer Online and do not consider quitting within the next 3 to 6 months
-You can make the time to Run PVE and clear the dungeons each week, which will be, I forsee, twice weekly at probably no more than 2 hours per run (schedule of course would only be worked on if the interest exists, but I would propose Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday 8ish-10ish SA time, with a potential weekend Lair/leftovers run or something)
-You aren't a crapheel. No seriously. Any form of drama whatsoever would not be welcome.
