The South African government has resolved a dispute with diamond giant De Beers over an alleged large export of diamonds to stockpiles in London during the mid-1990s, both sides of the dispute said on Friday.

"There has been a conclusion to the matter," Sandile Nogxina, director general of the Department of Minerals and Energy, told Reuters.

"It is not an easy matter, it is a complex matter and we cannot provide a simple solution to a complex situation," Nogxina said, without providing further details.

Well well.
I wonder if/or how much the new state owned diamond company influenced this, the one where DeBeers is providing expertise and management skills free of charge for 3 years, as per El Presidente's state of the nation address?
De Beers, govt form gem firm
The world's top diamond producer De Beers and the South African government will form a new black-controlled diamond mining company, they said on Friday.
