SA Roads vs Zim Roads

Out of toll roads, the roads are terrible. On toll roads, slightly better but far from great.

There's no comparison even possible with SA roads (except maybe with the really bad ones in Limpopo or KZN).

Zim roads are bad bad bad. Drove there in May for a week and car came back with all sorts of squeaking noises. The roads are not for the faint hearted. Particularly at night.

That^^^ And it's not an over-exaggeration...

Do NOT drive at night, especially long distance. Ever, unless you like dying horribly.

And another warning, if you're not experienced with the roads be very very very careful. It is dangerous.

I grew up there and go back frequently and the time I spend here makes even me nervous driving there again

In the city centre, the roads are OK.
Everywhere else... badder than bad...

The best road is probably the one that goes past Mugabe's house...

There is a reason nobody really buys fast cars or mainly sticks to bakkies or 4x4's in zim.

The main tolled roads are not too bad. Besides the odd pothole, livestock is a problem.

In Harare, some roads a pretty decent, as you move to the busier roads or into the suburbs, there are a lot more potholes.
