WTF? You cannot find middle level management here? Why not look at the people you retrenched?

The problem with policing in SA is not nested in middle management. We need good, intelligent people to become cops, not below par people whom otherwise could not find a job. Give the cops better salaries and better training and equip them for the job at hand - and so doing you will attract smarter people into the force.

Here's an example, over the past weekend I needed an affidavit for something, and went to my nearest police station. The sergeant tasked with assisting me for the affidavit had to do it over 4 times, mostly due to extremely bad spelling mistakes, technically incoherent grammar but most alarmingly, failing to correctly copy my Passport number from one document to another 3 times. Clearly this women should not be a police officer, as she just does not possess the ability to grasp logic.

I normally just write my own affidavit and only give it to them to sign and stamp. I had a similar problem when I filed an incident report. The cop did not know the difference between an accident and an incident form. In the end I lost out on an insurance claim because he insisted on using an accident form when he should have used an incident form. My car had been hit in a private carpark and not on a public road.

Yep, I have had to do more than 10 affidavits due to theft, robbery, fraud, etc. being committed against myself.
