Purchased a 500Gb WD MyBook in Dubai for R1360
Amazon prices are excellent only if you can ship to SA
which you can if you ship a myus.com Florida,USA shipping
address and then re-ship it from Florida to SA

If you goto Incredible Connection prices are way over priced
compared to the overseas market.

400 Mb IOMEGA R2350

Look at one of the cheaper suppliers too below

Why are we so expense anyway? This topic (expensive SA prices) resulted in a MAJOR thread going over at the SystemShock forums.

From DirectDriveControl:

HDWDG1NC5000E WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB MY BOOK "WORLD EDITION" GIGABIT ETHERNET -REMOTE ACCESS STORAGE SYSTEM TO YOUR NETWORK R 1,665.00 excl. Vat

I assume you don't pay tax in Dubai?

The prices in SA is only a little more expensive than it is in the UK.

Looks like the MyBook USB2.0 is a different model
Look for Model WD5000C0320-032 to match the same model.

The above cost $155 (ZAR 1100) at Amazon
obviously excl TAX & shipping

Nice ol' import duties at work... (rather corruption)
Even our own brand Sasol fuel is cheaper in Botswana than here :)
I used to drive from Mafikeng across the border to Botswana to fuel up - saved like R70 on a tank with a Hilux bakkie less than 2 years ago...

Welcome to R12.30/liter in Zambia, obviously when you drive
up from SA, you fit long range tanks and fill up in Botswana
before entering Zambia at Kasane.
