Hi all!

I was wondering about the default speed limit for a type of road and the indicated speed limit on a street sign.

In my homeland, the law stipulates that the speed limit on the sign applies until the first intersection after the sign, and after that intersection the default speed limit applies unless indicated otherwise by another sign.

How is that set up in SA?

There used to be something like that here too...and it applied to areas where you had to change speed due to roadworks...then you had to stick to the lower speed until something like 500 metres after the road sorted itself out.

If it still exists, it's highly unlikely that anyone ever bothers to stick to it!!

Except the police of course ;)

But that is for roads with works on them, I was asking about normal roads.
