SA training squad

Well, he wants to be a flyhalf. Shame.

With his strength and speed he will make a perfect fullback IMO.
1. Tall enough to get above chasers when fielding "gary owens"
2. Strong enough to hold off defenders long enough till support arrives.
3. Massive kicking boot. When playing territorial game this is very important.
4. Unpredictable. This can be good or bad. I have seen him get into deep **** with some of his fancy moves. (but see point #2)
5. When he does run at the defense he is very difficult to stop and usually draws a few players and opens up some space. *but needs to work on offloading in those tackles.

If he does the basics right he plays very good. Always buggers up when he tries to be a show-off.

+1

Has all the talent in the world, he is just not doing the basics... IOW suck in defenders when running then offload!

NOT FREAKING ROCKET SCIENCE!

But I have Stefan gets the call, he is the inform fullback atm.

5 Springboks in Namibian squad

Five Springboks have been selected for the Namibian Invitational team to take on a South African XV in Windhoek on Friday, May 29.
Jaco van der Westhuizen, Tonderai Chavhanga, Meyer Bosman, Derick Hougaard and Wayne Julies

IMO. Not one of these guys are real Bok quality(anymore).
I am however worried about the other inclusions into the Namibian side.

Duane Vermeulen
Rory Kockott
Richardt Strauss

Puke probably declined because I think he will turn out for the Southern Kings later

Boks better watch out.

Full Squad.

Jaco van der Westhuizen, Tonderai Chavhanga, Frikkie Welsh, Meyer Bosman, Llewellyn Winckler, Derick Hougaard, Rory Kockott, Jacques Burger, Duane Vermeulen, Jacques Nieuwenhuis, Nico Breedt, Dawid de Villiers, Kobus Calldo, Richardt Strauss, Kees Lensing (captain)

Replacements: Hugo Horn, Johnny Redelinghuys, Ruan Vermeulen, Anton van Zyl, Wayne Julies, Jurie van Tonder, Chrysander Botha.

I am afraid that this might not be what Snorre had in mind when a practice match was scheduled against Namibia.

I think it will be either a scrappy affair or runaway score for the Boks.

"Namibia" will be playing Barbarian rugby and running everything while I think the Boks will be trying out new moves and combinations.

Does anybody know if this will be televised? Time and Channel Please.

Read this morning they have "lost" a couple of players.

2 WP players (the wing, and a prop) IIRC, and the Sharks want an Insurance Policy of R500 000 for Kockott....

And none of the Cheetahs have been released to play for Namibia. Naka wants them to focus on the game against the B&I Lions.

I think it is a good call. If Namibia wants to play they should get their own players. Rather not have any injuries and play a full strength team against the Lions.
Ask any player if he wants to play against the Bok B team or against the Lions?

Oh lord, the useless chunk of furniture has been called up to the training squad -

The national selectors have added Vodacom Cheetahs centre Meyer Bosman to the SA training squad that will assemble in Pretoria on Monday to prepare for a practice match against a Namibian Invitation XV in Windhoek on Friday, May 29.
