at the salary we're paying him, we shouldn't be winning games on 0-0 draws and just penalties... maybe jake white is up for the job...

Do you know anything about the Cosafa cup, more specifically that Zambia are 3 time winners of the competition?

If you have nothing constructive to add, don't bother posting.

SA Soccer needed that win.

If only we could win more matches, the grounds may even started filling up again. Didu seen the pitch invasion after the win ?

Yeah, great to see security get them back quickly though. What can I say we Celtics fans are an overzealous bunch ::D

i am actually pretty familiar with african soccer, and zambia's position in it. just because my opinion doesn't agree with yours doesn't mean i have to keep quiet. that's what debates are built upon...

I thought it was a pretty lacklustre performance by both teams. God what a boring game **yawn**

...then you should know that Zambia are ranked 30 places ahead of SA. These rankings don't lie too. Zambia has finshed ahead of SA in every competition recently.

At least we won, hopefully a turning point to build on, well done.

Hows the commentry on SABC1 ... 10 minutes english, 10 minutes xhoza, 10 minutes english, 10 minutes zulu, rinse, repeat.

I really did not know that they did that, it was quite lekka trying to learn the player names and watching the game, but ya, it was a boring game, with us showing a string defense in the first half, and not much defense at all in the second half.

I hate the penalty shootout thing, it's lame.

Well done SA. Hopefully it's a road to recovery building on the success of the RWC, much like how we won the CAF cup in '96 after winning the '95 RWC.

Bafana Bafana is not a derogatory term. It translates to 'boy boy', but in broad terms you can almost refer to them as 'our boys' as much as we sometimes refer to the boks as 'our boys'. BTW, Boys means exactly what it says. A young male.

Spot on.

We have boys on the field in soccer, not men.

...in soccer a player is considered to be over the hill when he is 33 or older.
So yes, we need boys rather than men on the field. Bafana Bafana is most apropriate name for the soccer boys.

so it's cool if I call my black coleagues and subordinates "bafana" but not "boy" ??

Lay off the racial slurs, will you? This is a sporting debate.
You can call your black coleagues/subordinates by their names.
