SA WoW numbers?

What some company should do is create a vpn which can lower our latency to about 300ms, I know about www.it24.co.za but never seen any raves about them.

If say someone could offer a service which allows a connection to the wow servers and browsing the wow info sites, I would pay R50 for that. x that by most of the SA wow players. Someone could make a kuk load of cash offering a decent VPN service.

That has been done several times over already and each of these services fail to provide a sustainable solution
 
To get a decent VPN set up you need a diginet line. A 192kb/s (up 192/down 192) costs about R4000 a month. WOW while questing solo eats up about 40-60kb/s and prob in a 25 man raid 100kb/s+ so basically 2 people can share a diginet line at R4000 a month to get pings of +/- 200ms-300ms. Hardly worth it. There just will never be a decent VPN until a) speeds are increased on diginet or b) diginet is bought down to ADSL level.

I dont agree with your numbers, I raided MH last night from 6:30 to 12:00 and used exactly 136.52MB / 5.5 hours = 24.82MB per hour.

aye, going to bed at 2am and waking up at 7 has its side effects.

Ok with those numbers its 24.82Meg per hour which is 0.42Meg per minute which is 0.0069Meg a second. So 0.0069 mega byte = 56.5248 kilobit so in other words you used a average of 56kbps. By the way is this just incoming traffic or both incoming and outgoing? The fact still remains that even if this is total usage thats only 4 people on a R4000 diginet line to get good usage. BTW when I play kb/s always jump depending on activity, seen kb/s of 120kb/s down.

You mean decrease?
Basically instead of your data going through international routes in heavily shaped and loaded channels it goes to a local address where a VPN is set up. The creator of the VPN has a really fast/reliable connection (diginet) and all your traffic is routed through his internet connection.
