Yeah really wanted Capitals to win they just didn't have the bowlers. End of the day probably best result for SA as most of our world cup players delivered and was an experienced chase in the end. Congrats Sunrisers

Nah most of the bowlers bowled well. Pieters had an off day and Parsons is a part timer.
157 is below par, 3 runs scored in the last 2 overs. Score 170 plus as they should have and its a different game.

Just looking at the top 5 bowlers this tournament Sunrisers had 2 in the top 5 Capitals none.. Overall the batting carried capitals through the tournament and the Sunrisers just had a better balance... Agreed score was sub par last 2 overs definitely cost the capitals.
 
It was a great comeback by the Sunrisers. At one stage the game was all over for them but Stubbs and Breetzke showed BMT.

OPINION: Fans deserve to watch home teams in SA20 play-offs​

They’re clearly getting a lot right, but one thing the SA20 organisers need to reconsider is the decision to choose play-off venues before the competing teams have been decided.

Holding knockout games at neutral venues takes something away from the experience for spectators who are attending the games.

In the 15 play-off matches that have been contested over the last four seasons, only one team has played at home, with the Joburg Super Kings competing in eliminator and qualifier games at the Wanderers in 2024.

Even Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who have lifted the trophy three times, have had to play all 10 of their play-off games away from home, which seems unfair to their fans.

I agree with this. It would have made these games so much more festive an personal if this had happen. As an example, the game in Durban (iirc?) fell short of numbers in spectators. I felt it impacted a bit on the game.
 
It would ideal but might be logistically challenging.

Durban people not being bothered isn't really much of an indication, Kingsmead has the lowest attendance average of all 6 venues over the first 3 seasons. All neutral games at Centurion, Wanderers and Newlands have been very well attended.

They have more time going forward - 37 days in 2027 vs 31 days this year - so maybe...
 

Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals set for Season 4 Final rematch as Betway SA20 Season 5 fixtures are announced​

Fifth season to start at St George’s Park on 17 January with the Final taking place at Newlands on 21 February

Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals will battle it out in a repeat of the Season 4 Final when the fifth season of Betway SA20 gets underway on Sunday, 17 January 2027 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The full list of fixtures announced today reveals a bumper month of non-stop cricket and entertainment, with all six stadiums around the country set to host the world's best T20 stars in action.

Fans will be able to maximise their weekend entertainment with four blockbuster Saturday double-headers scheduled throughout the month, starting on 23 January when Durban's Super Giants host Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead before Joburg Super Kings take on Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the Wanderers later that evening. More double-header magic follows on 30 January, 6 February and 13 February, giving spectators every reason to make a ‘Saturday of it’ at cricket venues around the country.

“Announcing the Betway SA20 fixtures is always a big moment for us, it’s the first major milestone ahead of the new season and it means the wheels are in motion for us as we build towards an incredible month of cricket,” Betway SA20 League Commissioner, Graeme Smith said.

“There is no better way to start Season 5 than with a repeat of one of the most thrilling finals in our history. Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals served up a classic in Cape Town last season, and it's fitting that they're the two teams out in the middle when the season gets underway in Gqeberha on 17 January 2027.”

The City of Cape Town and Newlands will host the Final for the second year running and third since the League’s inception on Sunday, 21 February, with Boland Park hosting a Playoff match (Qualifier 1) on 16 February for the first time. Johannesburg and the Wanderers are set for an exhilarating week of Playoff action, with the Eliminator taking place on Wednesday, 17 February and the do-or-die Qualifier 2 on Friday, 19 February setting up an unmissable few days on the Highveld.

“Cape Town is proud to once again host the Betway SA20 Final, and to do so as our city gears up for an extraordinary year of cricket,” said Cape Town Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis. “The League has become an anticipated fixture on our sporting and cultural calendar and hosting this Final in the same year we welcome the world for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup shows exactly why Cape Town is one of the great cricketing cities. We look forward to giving players, fans and visitors from around the world the warmest welcome when the Final comes to Newlands.”

The Paarl fans have been some of the most passionate supporters of the League so I’m excited that we are finally able to give them a Playoff in the form of Q1. Equally, Wanderers in Johannesburg will be the place to be with the second team to contest the Final taking part in the Eliminator or Qualifier 2. The Newlands Faithful have been fantastic hosts for our Final in recent years, and we're grateful to the City of Cape Town for their support as we return to Newlands once again. We're excited for fans in all six of our host cities to be part of the season,” Smith concluded.
