Hi guys,

Just got a PVR decoder, and all installed great, only problem is SABC 3 hooks sometimes while watching it, as if the signal is being lost, but all the other non-SABC channels work 100% fine all the time.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have been getting it on SABC 2 - if you reboot the PVR the problem is gone. Have reported it on the DSTV forums but don't know if anybody ever looked at it.

multichoice obviously dont want you to record Heroes
:p

off topic: your use of the word "hooks" is totally incorrect. I have seen this a few times in various posts, and just wondering about how this comes about.
is it correct if i say you are translating from the afrikaans "haks" or "hakkel" which can kinda be hooks also.
the right word to use is stutters....

no, it doesnt go HHHHHHEEEEroes, its goes H (pause) eroes.

So it doesnt stutter, it hooks.

when digital services go H(pause)eroes that is referred to as stuttering.:-) weird huh.
it is caused by a loss of signal, plain and simple...weak aerial/dish, bad cabling etc. but still wondering if you translated from the afrikaans word haks, but no need to answer if you dont want to.

Could be overheating. Ensure that the decoder is properly ventilated. Has this issue with an old 720i. Some stations "hakked" while the others were fine.

HTH

Uhm lets research
