SABC has until 4pm to suspend Motsoeneng: DA

Incoming contempt of court charge... but who do they give it to???

Does the fact that they are appealing this at the ConCourt not give them the gap on this?

Was wondering this myself earlier. I can't see how it could. The SCA has made a ruling and it's rulings are effective immediately. I can't imagine the entire county goes into legal limbo just 'cos someone wants to cry to the ConCourt. Also, the DA would have taken advice before approaching the SABC... Agreed, contempt of court charges incoming.

what does the contempt of court mean. its not like they really care what the courts say anyway.

The DA makes the assumption that the rule of law still applies in SA.

The notion of rule of law left with Thabo Mbeki.

No. Both the high court judge and the SCA judge said it is to be enforced immediately.

That's how they weaseled out of implementing the CT high court ruling, so they'll probably claim the pending appeal allows them to do nothing until there's a ruling.

What bothers me more is that the courts assume that even if the SABC went ahead and held the disciplinary inquiry that it would actually be impartial. The SABC have proved that they are anything but impartial.

Well the PP found him guilty and has asked the SABC to follow due process as an employer and implement remedial action. They're supposed to then get back to the PP after implementing the remedies.
