SABC in tender dispute

Nutshell:

Digital Horizons claimed the awarding of the tender for the OB Vans was unfair.
Sabc said that it could not follow the correct procedure for the awarding of the tender for the vans because of timing contractual issues with Fifa.
Fifa now claims that there is NO contract in place with the Sabc, so their original reason (given to the high court) is a lie.

Is that not perjury? Its time for someone to go Jail I think.

Who is "Digital Horizons"? :o

If SABC did not get the contract to broadcast the soccer, who did then?

No :)

Digital Horizons is a company that manufactures OB Vans (outside broadcasting vans).

They are claiming that the SABC did not give them a fair chance to tender on the manufacture of some of these vans to the value of R400m.

I'm not sure that its about broadcasting the soccer as much as it is about the use and requirements of the vans.

you are correct in presuming perjury, however past events should be more than enough evidence to convince anyone that no-one is going to jail (No-one that should go at least)

Thank you for the nutshell Madman88.

Now, with 1 billion rand to spend, SABC can smile and continue to not follow the prescribed processes. Digital Horizons will get some form of compensation because procedure was not followed, nobody will get hurt, except for the taxpayer.
