SABC loses soccer coverage

If you guys had known the background to this news article, you would know that SuperSport has to negotiate with a free to air channel, e-TV, to broadcast matches. Remember the court case SABC instituted and lost? So "the masses" will be able to have access to PSL soccer.

As for the one that feel that PSL soccer is poor quality, just change the channel.

The fascilities are bad but come 2010 we'll have a back-drop of brand new stadiums.
Internetional soccer with the exception of La Liga, is mostly skop and donner with very little flair. :D

200 Million a year * 5 = 1 Billion Rand. And Multichoice are just trying to boost their black viewership. Only problem is, 200 bucks a month is out of reach for most of them.

E-tv will probably show delayed broadcasts like they do with Champions League matches. :eek:
The DSTV Select option from Vodacom seems to be the one to go for provided you are able to select the best 16 channels of your choice. At R130 pm it's a bargain.

PSL soccer is not comparable to international soccer for obvious reasons. But I'd rather watch something I can support, be passionate about and identify with like Lamontville Golden Arrows. I grew up playing soccer with most of those guys. English football is only worth watching if the mega stars are playing. Anything other than Chelsea, Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool is *yawn*yawn*yawn*eish* time to go sleep*....watching Reading vs Wigan is like watching Hellenic vs Grineker Rangers/Arcadia/Pretoria Callies in the old days*.Yawn*Skop, donner and goal*

The English premiership has grown at the expense of minor leauges around the world (South America, France, Portugal and Africa) becasue they have money to buy whoever they want.
