SABNZBD issues

I download via news servers (free one with WA, and paid with Astraweb) and my host (i hope this is the right name) is sabnzbd

For a long time this worked perfect 99,5% of the time, but over the last few weeks I have been having numerous issues, and am hoping for some help.

WA is my primary ISP and I can use Vox with their after hours uncapped deal. I have been trying to DL a program and in some cases am on my 5th + attempt. Currently the two files I am battling with are only 38 days old, and i have never had issues with these age files in the past.

Any ideas why I just can't seem to DL some files (messages is - aborted, can't be completed). I have also had an issue with another which is 2 days old and says repair failed due to missing blocks. This is my third attempt

Thanks so much

Doesn't sound like a SABNZBD issue but rather a server retention problem. Where are you getting your NZBs from?

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone. Sadly I am technically challenged and when I set everything up a few years ago, I just followed a step by step how to.

I use NZBS.org to source my files, and then sabznbd to control the downloading there off. This has served me well for many years and I do not want to go the torrents route at all.

Sorry to ask more questions. If I get oznzb account (looks like I need an invite for this), that would replace my nzbs account? With astraweb (would that be the same as UsenetBucket), I buy a 1000 gigs for $50 and can use at leisure. I have found them generally good, so would I need to replace that?

Thank you so much for your patience with me

I'd edit the first post and remove the comments about the illegal downloads and just refer them by xyz. Might rub some people the wrong way :)

Moving to another nzb provider I dont think will solve it. The issue is with some stuff being removed on the usernet providers server by dcma takedowns.

Moving to another usenet provider might help but older stuff might be removed their as well.

I have had the same issues recently. I sometimes correct that by skipping between servers manually. DCMA takedowns happen on some servers for certain shows and not on others.
E.g. show X comes down incomplete. Turn off one server and try again etc. But that becomes a manual PIA, so I revert to Torrents when a .nzb download fails. Less hassles.

OZNZB is also an indexer, like Newztown and UsenetCrawler etc. Your indexers are not the problem, rather the servers containing whatever you download.

Also I've cancelled my Astraweb. They are being killed by takedown requests.

To sum up: a combo of .nzb and Torrents work for me.

SABNZBD should handle the server switching for you.

SABNZBD should handle the server switching for you.

I have 4 servers at the moment. 1 is my main server and the other 3 are my backup servers. If I have an incomplete download, I manually take certain servers out of the equation and try again.

As far as I know, the backup servers kick into action, when my main server does not have whatever I am looking for. If the wrong backup server is "selected" I can still get incompletes.

Of course, I may be doing it all wrong?

I have chosen a back up server on SABNZBD by assigning priority 1 so that it should only get used if the other servers can't get the data. Is that what you mean Bwana?

Thanks for the suggestion MightyQuin - as per above, this is what I am now trying, but file X and Y STILL are not working :(. Sadly I know nothing abut how to use torrents

If you prioritize the backup servers sequentially then it shouldn't give up until it's tried them all.
