Sacci warns on labour bill changes

Employees would have to receive equal pay for equal work or work of equal value irrespective of period of service, experience or expertise, productivity or performance, Sacci said.

The business group also warned that employers would react to the new legislation by reducing employment, increasing mechanisation of their operations, moving their operations off-shore or closing down.

It added that all vacancies would have to be reported to a yet to be established public employment services structure with extremely punitive measures applied for failure to do so.

Scrap these bills or kiss away jobs.

Love how they make it the Employer's task to do everything, the employee does ***all and the employer must suffer.

Not really - when employers start automating menial tasks then they'll quickly come to their senses.

Does this mean that the private sector have to report to the govt in this regard?

Yes - more union strikes

How so? How can they strike for people who was never employed in the first place? All this will do is make it harder to get a job. Obviously getting rid of existing employees may prove a bit trickier.

thats what I meant - existing employees. :D

They will take a dim view of govt getting so involved in their operations!

They will.

Government seems to be hell bent on managing all spheres of business, from what partners you must have, to who you employ. If they go on like this, we will al be virtually working for the government ...

Urgh, I'll just start my own company and contract out to my "employer" at whichever rate I wish to ask. I'll also be my company's only employee. We actually just discussed eliminating employees at one of our clients by automating their jobs as well. This will not go well.

We can already replace most government employees by this script:
Code:
while true
do
     sleep 60
     echo "Yawn ..."
     clear # memory
done
