saDC++ Help Please

Howzit.

I spend most of my bandwidth on local torrents but have heard that dc++ is really good.

I have downloaded the thing and have it open. Can somebody please tell me, step by step, cos apparently i am too dof to work out the FAQ or the readme, what to do next in order to actually download something?

I have searched this forum and asked many people all to no avail.

Assistance would be much appreciated!!

Well there are 2 ways you can go about this.

First of all, you need a hub to connect to.

One way is to manually add a favourite hub (example. a local one)
or use the public hub listing. (also a function in DC++)

Once connected to 1 or more hubs there is 2 ways again to go.

1. Use the built in search function. Do know some hubs have people sharing anime, others hacks and so on.

2. Right click on someone else in the hub (it has a user list and chat almost like IRC) and choose "Get File list". This will download a xml file from that person, and you should get a window almost like explorer like browsing with the files that person is sharing. You can add these to your download queue list as well.
