Safari stopped working

hi all, this morning safari has ceased to work and so I cannot read politics Web and any other bookmarks.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems. I have latest version of IOS 6.

Have you tried closing the app... double tap home, hold press the icon and touch the X.

If you have then I would check and see if any other applications like whatsapp etc.. are connecting

Thanks scoobydoo, for some unknown reason it is now working as it used to do.
