Safer clean web browsing adguard nextdns brave

Saw a post from somebody on this forum complaining about popups on sites. Not sure if this is of interest but thought everybody used something to keep their browsers clean

1. Browser extensions
2. Brave the browser
3. Adguard DNS
4. Opendns
5. Cloudflare DNS
6. Nextdns for R300 a year

Currently I use Nextdns cached on Mikrotik with DoH, which replaced my free adguard and OpenDNS. Its just so much cleaner than using the default ISP DNS

I am so glad I stumbled across your post! I've been looking for an alternative like NextDNS to configure on my Mikrotik The DoH is an added bonus, very easy and intuitive to use.

No thanks https://controld.com/ is cheaper at $10 per year via Stacksocial. Cheap as chips

Is your local on on HA? How do you get a cloud one running and does it sync with the home one?

I run HA and Adguard home on the same machine at home. The cloud one runs on an Oracle always free VPS.

They don't sync, but syncing isn't really a thing with DNS.

Ah ok cool - i also have HA and Ad Guard on the same box for the home but nothing for off-lan. Works pretty well and browsing has been pretty seamless

You left out quad9. I use DNSMASQ with 208.67.222.222, 9.9.9.9 and 1.1.1.2 as servers with the all-servers parameter. Is about 240% faster than anything out there and 100 times more reliable than the ISP DNS which is always dodge. l have the cache set at 2048 and the cache timeout at 15 minutes. I whitelist sites to 8.8.8.8 and load the blocklist:

Use an x86 - either appliance or old mini PCs and it chugs along like a train.
