I hope someone with VIP premier experience can add a bit of 2c.
Setup:
Win2k8r2 server (hyperV) with VIP installed. Domain security credentials for ladies on premier folder (full control).
2 Desktop pcs (win7pro32bit sp1) , gig ethernet. mapped drive Z: at startup to map to server (works fine) + 1 laptop .. (same hardware specs).
Problem:
VIP is started with a network shortcut wrun32.exe -x -y -x blah blah and starting location on Z:
At random intervals after FIRST access , the client pcs cannot start VIP , due to some license accessing "issue".
after this message , drive Z: , is not accessible , but still "mapped".
if you restart , all is OK *ONLY* for the first time that the VIP application is started.
laptop user doesn't experience problems , server side loads fine too.
We have excluded in the antivirus the folders / shares , and also played with ip instead of name for host - no diff.
Windows have been updated on all clients and server to cover that angle. Antivirus & Firewalls disabled or excluded don't make any diffs. Duplex speeds on NICS don't help. .NET and JAVA is updated .
Normal outlook and document server network layer connections are stable. Deleting and re-creating the share , even with different name , doesn't help. I have moved the hyperV to another physical host to eliminate faulty Serverside NIC as a problem , no diff.
SAN integrity is fine , and hyperv image has been OK'ed for chkdsk.
So at this point in time - i'm stuck
any ideas before i let them teamviewer?
