Sahara Laptop Battery

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Sahara Laptop model NB725432-E001 has a "detachable" battery? That I can take out / replace myself?

Just to warn you: Some SAHARA laptops will not function without the battery in place. So if after a year your battery dies, you will be forced to buy a new one at considerable expense.

i'm not saying you are wrong, but after working in various environments dealing with large (300 to 1000) different laptops a day from various manufacturers for the past 12 years I have yet to find one which doesnt power up on ac/dc alone.

yes it is actually. but my staff are pretty good at it by now.
coming up to christmas time now so we are up to 4000 a week. you got a problem with that?

A friend asked me about one only the other day. A Sahara. Didn't work off the power only. It was not more than 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old. It surprised me too, but I think old Toshibas also have this feature.

you will probably find the actual ac/dc jack on the motherboard is missing a pin (the inner + pin gets pushed in occasionally form abuse/bad design)
so it works fine with battery in (running off battery) but take battery out and plug in ac/dc and it doesnt work.

not a feature, they will get their butts sued if this (what you speak of) is implemented by design, so I dont believe it has actually happened.

if your friend owned more than 100 of the same laptop, and they all did the same, and the manufacturer confirmed it then I may be persuaded to believe some chinese fool made a mistake in the circuit design of a particular revision of the motherboard, but it is no intended feature on any laptop
