Ultimately, this is a device that I would very much like to see rereleased, but with a few minor enhancements, which would make it worthwhile.

This device is about the same size and shape as a typical mobile phone, if a bit more compact than most. What it does is function as a digital camera (2 megapixel), an organiser, and a media player.

Of particular interest is the fact that it can be connected to a TV or other device with an AV input. It connects to a PC via a mini-USB cable, and is also recharged in this fashion. Unfortunately, the range of supported codecs and file sizes is limited, meaning that while you may be able to watch one person’s encoding of an episode of Californication, you may not be able to watch someone else’s Legend of the Seeker. A transcoding tool is included, at least, allowing media to be converted into a suitable format.

While this is useful, it means that the process of loading content onto the device can be very time-consuming. This is exacerbated by the fact that the file upload speed is very, very slow (at 500Kbps, some local Internet connections are faster!). Speaking of slowness, it takes a good few seconds for the device to power up, meaning that if you were planning to take a photo, you’ve probably missed the moment.
