Sahara notebooks - Experiences?

R3599 ex vat - any idea who is the OEM and what the build qual is like postman? I need to place an order today or tomorrow and I need to see if its worth my time. My gf's dad is looking for a cheap laptop.

Flippin awesome. Build quality not the best but the laptop is fast for the price.

Nope, sorry. But that's a real bargain. I've seen quite a few advocates of Sahara notebooks. Perhaps speak to killadoob.

Yeah my gf's dad has heard bad things though and is sceptical - im thinking of buying one myself though - its a bargain price.

Because for 4.1k you have a laptop that is faster than any hp acer dell etc in that price range.

Add xp home and your looking at 5k for a fast non celeron laptop with a big hdd considering the price.

For 5k you would be looking at a celeron with possibly 512 meg ram from the major okes like acer, hp dell, this laptop kills those slow celeron laptops.

I am a fan because its so cheap and so fast for the price and have yet to hear anyone of my customers moan about it, even people who didn't want the laptop but i told them rather try this laptop and if you don't like it i will replace it with a 5.5k hp or acer celeron. Nobody has come back to me.

when i load these laptops with xp and see how fast they are i feel good inside because this is the bargain of the century i feel. Thing is jsheed just try this laptop man, forget what people say about sahara because it's true alot of the time, but this is an exception. Awesome laptop, AMAZING PRICE.

GF has an older model bought for R4000 when we were still at varsity... been quite a few years she still uses it everyday plastics still look good compared to my sisters Acer that she had to replace cause it looked like crap after a few years. Maybe my sister is harder on her laptop i dont know but it is quite a big difference in the amount of usage shown by the two. My verdict the Sahara is at least as good as a budget Acer.
 
Can you see who the OEM manufacturer is anywhere on the laptop, parts etc?

Never looked to be honest, don't really care, most parts are the same cept they are branded with the companies logo.
 
A friend of mine has a dealership with Sahara. Says the goods really works well...
 
Jsheed i am not sure what to check, i am going to a clients house tomorrow morning, will check what the hardware says :)
