I have noticed that SAIBA is growing very fast and superceding SAIPA in the Accounting Industry. Although SAIPA has been somehow more popular than SAIBA to many people, however SAIBA members holding the designation BAP(SA) have been enjoying the same recognition as SAIPA members from the regulators i.e. CIPC, DTI, SARS, Social Development and etc. but now NOW SAIBA is becoming much bigger and better than SAIPA.
Now since the appointment of the new CEO by SAIBA Mr. Van wyk, SAIBA is slowly become more superior accounting body in South African behind SAICA. It can be noted that SAIBA has now been appointed to the FRSC (Financial Reporting Standards Concil) technical Committee, when small business development ministry was established SAIBA was part of the SMME Colloquium called Minister Zulu.
SAIBA has introduced a new designation of CFO(SA) which has international recognition and CIMA gives the same recognition/exemption to the holders of CFO(SA) as the CA(SA) for SAICA or SAIBA members who wants to join CIMA. SAIBA has a pathway relationship with UNISA School of business leadership for business executives who wants to qualify for the SAIBA's CFO(SA) designation. SAIBA accounting officers that wants to join CIMA gets exempted for an to start at Management level of CIMA while SAIPA members are only exempted for certificate level of CIMA. It should be noted that CIMA accounting accounting body and is recently partnering with AICPA to form a new accounting body which is expected to lead the world and have more members than any accounting body in world.
