SAIX and IS news server

Hi, can anyone be able to give me the port and hostnames for the IS and SAIX news servers.

thanks. Seems like my local server is saix. Bit unhappy since i heard how cr@p they are :(

Agreed, Biggie - believe me, I sometimes want more instant action! :D
But then I look at my monthly d/l and realize I will only use SAIX until 15th.
 
lol it's only a matter of time before the SAIX server ends up like the IS one with all the promotion going on lately. And Telkom isn't half as lenient as IS - no caching it locally or anything. They'll take you straight down to 5kB/s citing that newsgroups are only meant for text communication. So yeah keep going guys, just don't complain later when QoS gets shot to hell ;)

It is pretty amazing though since the whole Giganews thing came about, reminds me of the early days with IS.

Axxess's 10GB for R170 seems to be a pretty reasonable offer for something that's almost (at the moment) guaranteed full speed.

It's not R75 for 30 gigs, thats for 10GB, but anyway. I still hope that SAIX could easily keep the news server running at good speeds, with all their bandwidth and the price they charge for their local, it should be possible.
 
Who knows - maybe I'll give it a shot see how things are. :)
 
problem for me is that I downloaded 54 gigs last month, to cut back to 10 for the speed of Telkom would be rather bitter-sweet
 
Can anybody tell me what does it mean when a file (NZB) has been cached and why it is so important?
