SAIX and IS Peering Problems?

I use Vodacom 3G, which use IS as ISP. Could this also be the reason why V3G is so slow lately?

Only if its a SAIX (or ISP downstream from SAIX) hosted web site you are trying to access.

Is this problem worse for some than others? On a SAIX ADSL account I can normaly browse IS web sites fine, with ocasional slow downs for packet loss. But its not as bad as some people have described it here for plain www browsing.

For certain aplications however the packet loss is a big problem.

Browsing tends not to be too bad, however it is not what we pay for - we pay for our users to achieve at least modem speeds, and we pay a hefty fee for that privilege.
Remote desktop applications would be faster if I used racing pigeons to transfer data byte by byte at times.
Nowhere do I blame IS entirely for the problem, SAIX needs to wake up to the fact that they have competition, and accept it (even if said competition is handicapped by our favourite monopoly - can you image the power of IS if it was allowed to build its own infrastructure).
