SAIX Internation (ADSL only) Down.

I guess there may have been a load of congestion on the backup path. Thus ping went for a ball of shyt. Only when they rerouted traffic to other paths due to the fact that they were told that its gonna take a while to resolve the link failure. I guess they got some short term backup for a failure and a long term backup plan for a longer failure.

Ag well at least all seems a lot better that this morning.
 
unshaped adsl uses the sat3-safe cable systems to the uk and hong kong, but shaped adsl, is routed to new york then routed to wherever it is needed, dont ask y, just blame telkom

Hmmm Mumbai is Bombay in India?!?
There is no news on any landslides on their newspapers.... and it was so serious that it was declared a disaster area - maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks "china" I've been at work since 7am with a hangover till now twideling my thumbs and listening to people screaming at SAIX over the phone (and listening to them scream back) because it took them about 12 hours to actualy perform corrective rerouting so we could do what we planned to do.

Interesting Telkom has a very "interesting" setup as all data gets routed to India , yet as in the above traces, India is not present. Most interesting.
