Hi

For the last 3 or 4 days I've experienced very bad 'lag' times whilst using chat messenger software, I sometimes have difficulty logging in and intl websites download slower as usual. Stop start stop start. Normally I get the top download speed on most sites and chat messengers have never given me hassles.
I specifically have a problem when I'm on my SAIX shaped account. A friend has both a shaped and unshaped account and he is experiencing the same problem, but only on the shaped account.

What is going on? SAIX seems to be doing some heavy shaping these days, or is there some sort of problem currently on the Telkom/SAIX network that I'm not aware of?

Yes Ive been getting seriously bad speeds, for last night for examle I was updating Xoftspy and it was going at a whole 5K\s, whereas it normally goes around 40k\s.

I know what's happening, its Telkom suffing us around, and making money off us calling them to see wat the problem is! Bastards!!!

A peering link problem to NY would definitely explain the hassles I've been having. But surely they wouldn't post it as 'resolved' if it was not?

Its it just me - or has anyone else noticed that in the last 2-3 weeks there have been more line problems that the whole of last year.

haven't been playing games lately.. but mine seems fine, international saix shaped guess i'ma lucky fish :)

Slow in Centurion

Have been getting approx 5k/s int'l downloads since yesterday evening. Local appears fine, 320k/s tested on Gamco. ISP says not their problem. Phoned good old Telscum logged fault report. Waiting ......waiting........waiting..........

Anybody in Centurion experiencing the same??

I'm sick of this!! Why can't we have a decent service! With decent prices and decent cap!

FYI My trace to some international site bounces all over the world, to finally get no where!!

Appears to be something wrong with link to USA.
Telkom/SAIX also appears to be applying extreme port shaping at the moment. It takes quite a while to log in to chat messengers hosted in the USA and the webcam videos are now definitely not as smooth anymore (on SAIX shaped).

Seems to be fine in Centurion for me today. Whatever was broke on Int'l seems to be fixed for me.

I'm browsing fine but still have delays when logging in to chat software. Also, after hours and over weekends things tend to be faster anyway. So difficult to test/compare. During office hours these last few days internet speeds have dramatically slowed down for me.
Will have to check again on Monday after 08h30. :)

Centurion slooooooooooooooooow again. Bit better than dial up 10k/s d/l. This morning it was singing along at 30kb/s. Sigh............gonna watch TV.......better than this cr*p but not much.......multichoice sucks just as bad.
