Yeah, having some serious connectivity issues to our company's remote MS-VPN servers using the payVPN service. International browsing also seems to be crawling....

I was about to open my own thread on this. Phew! :) I'm experiencing the same problem. I get similar slow pings. International browsing is slow in general and my chat messengers take up to a minute to connect to the network, where it isually takes 5 seconds?
I've only had ADSL now for about two weeks and today is definitely the slowest it has been so far.

I know there were major issues with the SAT3 towards the end of last week. Doesn't seem like their problems have been resolved.

I really don't want to have to climb onto the phone with them and fight.

Unshaped account is fine. Only my TelkomInternet shaped account that does it

Referring to this one (http://www.axxess.co.za/network.php)?
"SAIX Network Notices :

Time Up : 29 Jul 2006, 23:40:00

It's the 31st of the month. I am sure it'll be fine tomorrow.

What surprises me though is that I can still load local sites at top speed. It is only international browsing etc. that is acting up. Surely if everyone was maxing out their Gb's on the last day of the month, local speeds would have been affected too?

It's only International and has nothing to do with people downloading the last of their available cap.

I have never in all the years I've had ADSL had an issue at the end of a month with this kind of latency. This is a problem with SAT-3 somewhere.

I tend to agree. However, there were several SAIX network alert notices on 29Jul (I think) but all of them were restored by yesterday (according to the notices). I didn't receive any notices today, but today is by far the worst day of the month i.t.o. slow inter bandwidth.

All our clients have been experiencing slow international access as well. Seems to be a widespread problem. My personal ping to google:
