Some international sites are very slow for me too. I use LogMeIn to access PC's remotely via internet. However, it takes me ages to load https://secure.logmein.com
Normally it takes only a few seconds. Not sure if it's their site or just the SAIX network that is slow though.

Can someone else (that's on SAIX) load that site and tell me how long it takes to load it?

Also as slow as hell with Telkom ADSL.

Wonder whether there was something wrong with the bank notes we used to pay Telkom for this crap. Maybe the colour was wrong or something and now they give us something different than what we paid for.

Switching to cache.saix.net when this happens usually fixes things.

There is definitely issues with SAIX. I don't think that its just international either. Even some local sites for me (SARS, ABSA) are very slow on SAIX, but when I switch over to my IS account work fine, speed wise. Also, when I ping certain international sites over long periods, there is packet loss of about 20% over 2minutes, which one doesn't always notice when browsing, but is definitely not normal and shows that there is a problem.

Yes it can for general browsing but unfortunately I don't like going through a cache server when working on sites where security is an issue. I just hope SAIX get their act together soon.
