Anybody else having SMTP server issues this morning.
Very slow and timeouts on smtp.saix.net and smtp.mweb.co.za.

No problems download, browsing etc. No speed problems (speedtest up to scratch and ADSL modem correctly synched, with no errors).

aaaah, thank you. Here I am wondering what the heck I am doing wrong.

tracert is your friend...

Same here, also can't connect to US IPs for days now... account not capped.

Found the culprit... but do the tracert yourself and see what you're paying them for....time outs.

Mweb's wonderfully informative call centre tell me that yes the problem has been logged since this morning but no they cannot tell me what the problem is or when it will be fixed.

Best I got was that it was a SAIX problem......

So the point of the call centre is ....... what exactly?

How about this for an innovative idea..... when your clients call your call centre, it is not very helpful to tell them something they already know. Rather tell them something they don't know - like when the hell the problem will be fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, it is an SAIX problem [not limited to MWEB] and was not fixed up to this afternoon. My boss was getting really irritated that some international emails were not being received. Luckily we do have a private international smtp server which did the trick.

As at 10h30 Saturday it is still not resolved.

It is apparently a Telkom/Saix problem but no substantive information is forthcoming.

So - its those Telkom plonkers excelling themselves again.

I have this problem on my webafrica account!! When will they fix it!!??

It was working again on Monday.

Great customer service - no explanation or apology!

What a wunch of bankers.
