So i dont know if this has been asked before but here goes??

Is it better to get bandwidth from SAIX provider or IS provider?

Seems everybody has their own opinion and I cant make up my mind.

Please tell me which one you are using and why. Also tell me why you would not recommend the other provider.

Thanks

In my experience - SAIX has a lot less problems than IS.

IS is cheaper than SAIX, but with SAIX you get a better quality of service (latency and uptime).

It is like buying meat from Pick n Pay or Woolworths.

For predominantly international web surfing on a 4Mbps line, IS Fibre Semi-shaped whips SAIX's butt (especially at off-peak times). See the thread I've linked to in my signature.

Who do you use for ISP?

Im looking at the Nexus semi-shaped prepaid aka CustomDSL. If im not happy with the provider i'll switch to a SAIX provider and see.

With the saix account im on telkom and the IS account is with openweb

Usually I get the same performance on SAIX and IS. At the moment though, SAIX is a lot slower than IS on local But IS is currently slow on international... damn lines getting cut the whole time

I use skyway.co.za they have very cheap IS accounts!
