SAIX are still experiencing a problem where numerous SAIX proxy servers are being blacklisted / blocked by international service providers. The reason given is that DOS attacks have been eminating from the SAIX network resulting in numerous overseas service providers blocking the SAIX proxies.

This problem has existed for the past two weeks, with SAIX clearly unable to resolve the problem properly.

I recently tested out an IS Fibre Semi-shaped bandwidth product (see link in my signature). I did a direct performance comparison with a SAIX Shaped account and the difference in speed was astounding (IS being MUCH faster for international access). I did the test during off-peak times, though, and people have suggested that the IS product is not as fast during peak times.

Anyway, one other thing I noticed (and this appears to be a known issue) is "video is no longer available" messages on YouTube with SAIX (workaround is to use a proxy server in your browser, or to hit refresh multiple times until it appears). I had no such problems with IS. Videos streamed a lot smoother (i.e. downloaded faster) with IS, too.

What specific web sites / ISPs are you referring to?
