SAIX resellers - feedback please?

yup just to confirm that there is no local bandwdith on webafrica SAIX accounts. Just capped my 10gig int SAIX account and there is no local access.

Same with my Axxess account.

Just another marketing ploy. TI has been loosing some ground in the ISP arena, and needed to boost their subscription base. Previously they did this with the "relaxed" capping ploy, which eventually got less "relaxed" as they got more subscribers. Since then they lost some subcribers, and now they usin the local cap thing as a shining apple for us to grab.

This is so typical Telkom, they make us believe that they are giving us something special, whilst they are actually ripping us yet again. Two birds with one stone this, "comply" with ICASA regs, and get some more clientes while we are at it...

I wonder how long the "trial period" will last.

I'd take there "pooling" system with a large grain of salt. We ran the numbers across our userbase and we'd be out of business within a month if we tried that. Isn't it odd that only TI can offer this special pooling business. I can't possibly believe its average customer usage profile is so completely different to all the other ISPs out there that it makes it possible for them.

Also I doubt any money changes hands or they pay VAT etc. How does a company invoice itself?

Regarding ISPA, we have a discussion going and legal counsel looking into it and will advise when we have clarity.

ok - but all you're doing is speculating right? Hopefully your legal counsel has something a bit more concrete if they're going up against the evil empire.
