Good day all,

I have lots of salad ideas but I always struggle on one thing : the dressing. I dont want to buy ready made dressings in the stores , although I have been using reduced oil mayonnaise made with free range eggs from Woolworths.

Anyone here with great , healthy creamy home made dressings , especially that go well with chicken salads?

Hope this is the right thread.

Aioli - so mayonnaise made at home with egg yolk, good flavoured oilive oil, garlic and lemon juice, salt. Don't bother about mustard and all that other stuff.

I make my own Ranch dressing with buttermilk, sour cream, mayo & fresh herbs. Google the recipe.

I buy powdered buttermilk for when I'm out, skip the cream and just use mayo & dried herbs - almost just as good for the end of the month Salticrax.

Problem is I like it so much I end up drinking it out of the bottle 'cos I know I can always make more..

Thanks for this. I assume you add the garlic in its powder form , or you finely cut the cloves?

Will have a look at this.

Chop it finely or crush the garlic in a pestle and mortar or with a knife. Adding salt helps break down the clove.
