Sally-Jean Shackleton’s career in the gender sector started in 1991, when she worked as a volunteer counsellor for People Opposing Women Abuse (Powa). In 1994 she was employed as Powa’s information and media officer. She joined Women’s Net in 2001 after working with the organisation to develop a website on women’s human rights.
