Hi peeps,

Need some input here from the gurus if you don't mind.

I am looking to upgrade my Sammy 24" on my PC to a 32".
I am keen on the 32D550 as I already have the 46" version in my lounge and love the quality of the thing. While browsing around looking at prices I came across a Sammy 40" D503 for R2,999.
While 40" is quite big for PC, I am content to mount it on the wall and sit a bit further back.
If the quality is good then I cannot ignore a 40" Full HD Sammy at that price.

My main concern is image quality. I will be using it primarily to code on and play games (MW3 and other FPS games).
What are your opinions on the 2?

Any advice appreciated :)

Awww. Was hoping to wake up and have some ideas. Last day for the R2,999 special.

Will prolly just go grab it and take a chance :)

They got the 32D550 on special at Makro R3199 thinking about it my self

If you're going 40" then make sure it's D550. Anything in the Samsung range that isn't the regular D550 (CCFL backlit LCD), D5000/D5500 (LED backlit LCD), is a _diluted_ version of the 5 Series with only 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB with no USB HD media player, and lacking other features that proper 5 Series LCDs have.

I would recommend 32" maximum for PC work. Depends how much you use it. Viewing distance minimum 80cm.

Eventually I downgraded to 24" 16:10 IPS because my 32" was too big to sit in front of 10 hours a day.

The ad says 31 Mar to 31 Mar dude. One day only.
If they extend the ad to today too, please lemme know. Also keen at that price.
Just read the Makro ad in the tribune it says this price is good to the 9th

Just got back from Hifi Corp. The R2,999 Sammy is out of stock.
Told them Makro had the 32D550 at R3199 so they matched the price. Saved me going to another shop.
Unboxing now then hook up to PC :)

Thanks for the input guys. Think this worked out for the best.
