Samsung 2232GW - Backlight bleeding - Who has it?

Ok... to all those who have the Samsung 2232 22" LCD...

Do you have any backlight bleeding? No matter how small, and with just a black background?

A friend of mine has the 22"GW Samsung and I think his bleeding is quite bad (around all the edges and quite far in).

I personally have the 226BW and only get a tiny bit at the top...
 
nope nothing on my side

when my pc boots up and the screen go black i can see the backlights but once im in windows, there is nothing

love my screen long time :)
 
got one - has about 1cm of backlight bleeding at the bottom but its only visible if the monitor is displaying full black. Other than that i see nothing and the only time I ever notice it is while the PC Boots.

Me? No... thats the one I have... the 2232GW... not the 226BW.

So... if any of you have some time, can you make your background black, and see if there is backlight bleeding in Windows at the bottom? A

Also, is it more prevailent on the bottom right? I'm trying to prove a point to Samsung, cause they insist they've replaced the LCD....

I see...Weird. I thought you had a 226BW all along :p
 
Nope.. scuse the confusion...

I did a search on YouTube for vids of the 2232GW... and found quite a few of people demoing other things, like an XBOX...and they all had that little 1cm section at the bottom... maybe I'm over sensitive... but the missing button still applies.. need it back.
 
Ok... just spoke to them again, they were going to replace it with a brand new monitor, but then put the two next to each other, and the new one is even worse - they've now escalated it to Samsung management, and will have an answer for me on Monday.

These Samsung monitors are really dodgy - first the 226BW with the different panel issues, and now the 2232GW with the bleeding issues. This was the last Samsung LCD I'll ever buy.

Even the repair shop recommended LG, for better service and product quality.

Samsung = 21 days turn around time - if you're lucky.
LG = Maximum of one week.

Wow man, that is some shocking service there. :(

How can they consistently make monitors that don't work? Don't they test them before sending them out at least??
 
They probably expect people to accept it... or some people probably just don't notice... if you're using the full screen, and the background isn't too dark, you don't see it. But if you're watching a widescreen movie, or something similiar...you definately see it.

And that is totally unacceptable. It's not like these screens are supercheap! :eek:

Like the 6 people who thought mine wasn't a malfunction :eek:. Would they really accept that :o
