Anybody experiencing issues with blurry patches on their 2494HS monitors? It is visible on native resolution (1920x1080x60Hz) (1:1 pixel mapping).

Samsung SA is unaware of similar issues, but after trying their suggestions I discovered that a friend of mine's 2494 monitor does exactly the same on his PC.

All drivers are latest available and I'm running mine as primary monitor in extended desktop mode. The blurriness varies from top to bottom and left to right on the screen, some spots are perfectly in focus.

Sometimes when you switch the monitor (only the monitor - not the PC) off and back on the entire screen is perfectly clear (in focus). It is almost as if the horizontal and vertical syncro settings is incorrectly set, but the monitor's Auto Adjust function is disabled when you are using the DVI or HDMI input.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

2494 was released a year ago are you sure about that? Wow thought it was released in the last 4 months of something :D

Mine works 100%, take it in and get it replaced by the sounds of it.
 
Sorry, I'm not allowed to post pictures.

According to info on the web it was only released in Dec 2008 in Japan and Feb / Mar 2009 in SA.
 
Have noticed vertical blurry satripes down the monitor on the samsung 19" wide lcd's tried it with a different vga card and think the problem went away, i may have been intoxicated though :D
 
Changing topic slighty - is there anyway to make 100% sure of the native resolution?

My brother Packard Bell monitor looks blurry to me :/

I came across some very cool utils from entech - try the "Monitor Asset Manager": http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm

It displays a vast amount of detail regarding your monitor(s) and it's current configuration - the Native resolution as well: "Native/preferred timing.. 1280x1024p at 60Hz"
 
Glad to inform everybody that I managed to solve the issue.

The monitor has an option called "AV Mode" and is available from the monitor's built-in menu. Whenever this is enabled the blurry patches are clearly visible - switch it off and everything is perfectly clear and in focus.

I accidently stumbled across this when I entered the menu and kept the "Auto Adjust" button down for more than 5 secs. (The "Auto Adjust: option is unavailable on DVI and HDMI inputs on these monitors) - everything on the screen shivered for a few seconds (looked similar to degause on CRTs) and then everything was (I think) reverted back to factory defaults. All the text etc. on the screen was suddenly perfectly in focus and then I started to adjust everthing back to the way I had it before (Brighness, Contrast, colour temp etc.) and as soon as I enabled "AV Mode" the blurry patches appeared again.

Also ensure that the monitor is set to "Just Scan" and that you are feeding it at Native resolution (1920x1080@60Hz).

I can now recommend the monitor to future buyers....
 
Sorry to re-open this, although I have been looking for a solution to this problem for over a year! Glad to have found the solution on an SA forum! My MacBook pro, and one or two other devices were showing blurred / not very well smoothed text. Seems to have solved this 100%.
