Hi all,

Yesterday my TV started giving problems and I have NO idea what is the cause of it.

Here is what's happening:
When I turn on the tv and from source select anything (VCR, External USB etc.) the display goes blank.

Thing is if I am fast enough to play anything I can still hear sound, but there is no display.
If I turn the TV of and on again the cycle repeats itself.

Any idea what can be the cause of this? And also what might the problem be?

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

I think I am a victim of memory loss. I THINK it is this model LN40D550

If it was bought in the last year then it would be the LA40D550 (LN = American version, LA = Africa, LE = Europe, etc.)

So assuming local stock probably still under warranty, best to call Samsung so they can send a technician.

It sounds like the power supply is poked. Had the same symptoms on a lg lcd monitor a couple years back, turned out to be the internal power supply.

Hi guys,

Yes it is still under warranty. Its about 6months old.

I will give them a call to find out if someone can come out and have a look.

Thanks!

Cool, let us know how your experience is. Would be good if you could list outsourced warranty/repair company used.
