I see the Samsung 40N5300 is on BF special at Game and Dion Wired @R3999. I've tried to get some reviews of it online, but very few to be found. So now I'm wondering what is everybody's opinion of it is, do you have personal experience with this model? thoughts please. We currntly have an old 32" Samsung 4 series so we are not into latest and greatest, I would just like to get the best possible quality for around R4000 budget (40"/43"). Any other suggestions...?

In the market for an fhd as well. Saw a skyworth at takealot with a 120hz panel but not familiar with the brand.
What did u get?

Did you guys end up buying a TV?

I got the Samsung 40N5300 from game on friday evening for R4k.

Yeah bought 2 for 4k each. Needed for shop and home for the kids as they always on the main TV.
Hows the TV?
I really like it so far. The reviews by these tech journalists are a waste of time. They are clearly used to 4k tvs because they say the panel is bad. I think the panel rocks! This is my first TV, and my first new panel in ~8 years however :)

I like:
  1. Picture quality;
  2. brightness;
  3. Sound quality;
  4. Profile of the TV itself;
  5. WIFI with Netflix, and YouTube; and
  6. File explorer which can read my external HDD and play most of my videos.
Dislike:
  1. Only 2 HDMI ports; and
  2. Only 1 USB port.
Otherwise excellent value for the price. My SO can now play PS4 from the couch instead of a chair like with my 23" monitor, and watch Netflix and so on without booting me off the laptop!
