Anyone have one of these?

I have 3 options - 1 makes financial sense and the other 2 are just 'I want ....'.

I can get a new 'old' 55" F6100 at R10k ... or display model 60" H7000 (R20,000) / 65" H7000 (R23,500). They're brand new condition and so sexy with the thin surround and brushed aluminum display. I think common sense is going to win and I'll get the cheap one.

I don't care about Smart, 3D or anything other than IQ - anyone got one?
Advice on it?

You can't go wrong with Samsung. We got the first Samsung slim LED TV at home, it's 3 years old now and it's still far better than anything in the sub R8k category.

I picked up a 55" H7000 for 16K at Hifi-corp (Digital Experience had the 60" for 23K which I felt was too expensive and too big) - in any case, the factory picture settings are complete crap and everything looks like a cheap soapie.

Managed to try out various settings (can't really remember what forums), but I am running these settings (http://www.naschenweng.info/2014/12/24/color-calibrating-samsung-55-h7000-series-7-ua55h7000/) and I think picture quality is a ton better. I found that even in "game mode" on the PS4, the fonts do not look smooth and everything is way too bright (Destiny, Diablo, COD).

Thanks!

Got the 60" H7000 in the end ; great screen! When it is done updating, I'll play a little more with the settings
