Im thinking of getting one of these new WM8 tabs, does anyone have any experience with this device, is it really what I assume it will be, a baby tablet laptop?
Also will MS Office be preloaded?

I am planning on going for a Win8 tablet. I have a work PC so I am not looking for a PC replacement per se, rather, a tablet which I can catch up work on.

I have seen Win8 tabs, ATIV, Vivo, Vaio etc. 1 problem - price. They are good, just not worth it at those prices, IMO.

My 3G modem upgrade will be to a Win8 tab. Willing to pay extra for it. RT is shaite. Not for me.

Are you going for the Ativ or the Ativ Pro?

Samsung gave me an Ativ Pro as a demo machine for a few weeks last year. i5 Processor, ran Windows 7 Pro. Office wasn't pre-loaded. The unit was very impressive and fast. 11.3' screen, bluetooth keyboard, stylus.

It's a really nice machine for specific applications / uses. Good battery life.

Give some feedback on your experience when you get it.

I hear HTC is almost done with theirs. I am sure Nokia is sure to follow with their own.

Just saw the iPad mini for R279/mth with 2GB. Would Win8 tabs be more affordable therefore? And when are we getting them?

I chickened out, didn't do enough research. I'm getting it through Vodacom, it's R525/month with 3GB data. The hardware fee is R325 x 24 months which is R7 800, the cheapest I saw it retailing for is around 12 000.
It's the ativ smart pc 500t I think.
