What adsl router do you currently have and what TPlink are you thinking of getting?

Wait whatnow? You need a dongle for the tv AND the player to use the internet? That can't be. *investigating*
 
@id13.I'm not using a router at all and I think that where my main problem is.Don't laugh but I simply plugged in my cellc dongle into the bd player and hoped it would pick up the server to allow me to watch the youtube videos.
 
No dude, that won't work. You need to somehow tell the 3G card to dial out and I know the BD player doesn't have this functionality.

So you need a router that will accept client connections.

My Samsung TV doesn't have the internet@tv function but DOES have an ethernet port. My Samsung BD DOES have the internet@tv function so I essentially get the feature just via the BD. So in order to use the Samsung apps like Youtube and Facebook and Google Maps, I need to have both devices on at the same time and use Anynet+ to get them talking to each other.

When I tried to get internet@tv working without the TV connected via ethernet it wouldn't work.

I'm not saying you won't be able to see normal streaming, just not the Samsung internet@tv feature.

Sorry to wake up a dead thread, but I just wanted to mention that there was an 18 movie contract with Blockbusters in the box. I just found out that this is worth R370 which makes this player even more of a bargain, especially with the real cr@p on DSTV at the moment.
 
Yes but I never saw any piece of paper that acknowledged this. Where did you see it?

??? Not 100% sure what you're asking. Which piece of paper acknowledgment are you looking for?

If you're referring to the movie contract, it was in the box of the player I bought - a gift from Samsung. I decided to see if it was worth anything yesterday.
