My SO and I visited the Samsung shop in Canal Walk to shop for an airconditioner.

We stood about for a few minutes before a staff member assisted (the shop was empty bar one client). We asked about the airconditioners on display. The clerk informed us that ALL the models have been discontinued and replaced by one model. The wall was filled with the discontinued models and he couldn't show us the new version. He told us to go online and look for the picture ourselves (they have laptops there and he didn't offer to look himself).

Bloody useless store that gives a great brand a very bad name. This is the second time I have visited that shop and received shoddy service.
 
yeah that shop is terrible ..the staff are always lazing around

but i think they probably thought you would complain so they wont help you :p

why dont you visit hirschs

they offer very good prices and its there in milnerton

tafelberg is in parden island as well
 
I went into this store about 2 years ago looking to buy a new fridge.
The fridge I liked was a discontinued model, but they had one on the floor they were willing to sell me.
I asked for a discount as this was a floor model and had been sitting there for 3-4 months.
I was was told that they "could not" offer me a discount. I then asked if they would deliver for free instead of the discount.
Again, the answer was an emphatic NO.

Their customer service sucks, and just on principal, I will not go and buy anything from this store.

As I.am.sam said - check out Hirsch's. I have bought a few items from them now, and their customer service was excellent !
 
For sure - been there twice. Staff have no motivation - dont get off their butts to help or have no clue about their products.

Pretty poor advert for customer service!!!!

I had a worse experience, I was also looking at aircons, and eventually left as no one was interested.

Hi, On a different note - did you find an aircon yet? I'm still looking for one for the bedroom in the house I am moving into next month.

Same bad experience with some other item (can't remember what) - havent bothered to set foot there again.

+1 on Hirsch - my experience has also been good with them - bought a couple of items there (Fridge, Washing Machine, TV)

hirsh has half of durban working for them ..and indians love giving discount so with hirsch you ask and you get

i got all my goods cheaper than sale prices at game and makro cause they beat the price of game and makro

LOL - yeah, same experience here - happy to price beat even on specials.
